1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using BachatAI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BachatAI is a personal finance management application that helps you automatically track bank transactions, categorise spending, and build savings habits. The Service is currently available as an early access release and features may change over time.

BachatAI is not a licensed financial advisor, bank, payment system, or regulated financial institution under the Reserve Bank of India Act or any other applicable law. All insights, summaries, and recommendations are for informational purposes only and must not be treated as professional financial, investment, or tax advice. Financial decisions remain your sole responsibility.

3. Google Account & Third-Party Services

To use BachatAI's automatic transaction tracking feature, you must sign in with your Google Account and grant BachatAI read-only access to your Gmail inbox. By granting this permission you confirm that:

• You are the authorised owner or user of that Google Account
• You have read and understood how we access and process your Gmail data, as described in our Privacy Policy
• You consent to BachatAI fetching bank notification emails solely for the purpose of extracting transaction data

You may revoke Gmail access at any time by visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions, finding BachatAI, and clicking Remove Access. Revoking access will stop automatic transaction syncing but will not delete previously extracted data unless you also delete your account.

BachatAI uses Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, and third-party AI services for transaction extraction. Use of these services is also subject to their respective terms.

4. AI Processing & Accuracy

BachatAI uses artificial intelligence to extract transaction details (amount, merchant, type, date, and balance) from bank notification emails. While we strive for accuracy, AI-extracted data may occasionally contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for verifying transaction data before making any financial decisions based on it. BachatAI shall not be liable for any loss arising from inaccurate AI-extracted data.

5. Early Access & Service Availability

BachatAI is currently in early access. The Service is provided free of charge during this period. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future, with adequate notice to existing users before any charges apply. We also reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

6. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us at tech@bachatai.com immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disrupt the Service or its underlying systems
• Share account credentials or allow third parties to access your account
• Use the Service to process data belonging to another person without their consent
• Attempt to circumvent any security measures or access controls
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding within BachatAI are the intellectual property of BachatAI and protected under applicable Indian copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission. Your personal transaction data remains yours — we claim no ownership over it.

9. Data Handling

Our collection, use, storage, and deletion of your personal data — including Gmail data — is governed exclusively by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Please read it carefully before using the Service.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that transaction data extracted from Gmail will be complete, accurate, or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, BachatAI, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including any financial loss arising from reliance on AI-extracted transaction data.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by emailing tech@bachatai.com with the subject "Delete My Account". Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 7 business days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Gurgaon, Haryana, India.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
